Massimo Calabrese
My name is Massimo Calabrese and I was born in Trieste, both personally and professionally.
My career path began in 1977, when I became passionate about the profession of hairstyling, and then graduated in 1982 as an art teacher.
In 1983 I opened my first shop in via Cesare Battisti and began collaborations with world-famous companies and masters.
I regularly participated in TV shows, film projects and fashion shows.
In 1999 I collaborated in the foundation of the LISEUM Academy in Bergamo.
My profession evolves nationally and internationally, always keeping its heart (and mine) in Trieste, where you can still find me today.
But how do I interpret and define my profession?
Seeing my father Umberto, a famous tailor in Trieste, working in his tailor's shop, allowed me to understand many things. He always told me:
"...you have to pay attention to details and be precise in the finishes!..."
Given that today in my profession the term "tailored-made" is used more and more often, I will explain what this concept means to me: "tailored" must be combined with many nuances, it cannot be the result of creativity alone.
We need to give space to the geometries, then to the volumes, study the materials and the morphology (the proportions of body and face), the colorimetry and finally consider the seasons of the year in which we find ourselves.
I understood, thanks to study and experience, how to love and make the customer love his fabric or his hair, and how to create the dress or cut suitable for each one of you.
You may be wondering how I achieve this result with you...
I want to get to know you first, to know how you want to use your hair, what you want from it and what you ask to it.
Remember...we hairdressers, and me in particular, are not psychologists!
I would better define my "being a hairstyler" by borrowing a phrase from Andy Warhol in which I reflect myself very much:
"...surveyor, painter, color chemist. No creative inspiration, just geometries and colorimetries, a lot of study and nothing more..."
I share this wonderful journey of curiosity and a lot of study with my wife Manuela, who always gives me the energy and desire to do this fantastic job with you.
Surveyor, Painter, Color Technician... that's who I am!
Manuela Travaglia
Always passionate about the world of the face and its facets, I believe that age is not an obstacle to beauty (you are beautiful at any age because there is no age for beauty!), as behind a beautiful and radiant person there is definitely a person you love!
And to love yourself, you need to learn to know, reconnect, take care of your face and listen to your emotions in order to live in harmony. Beauty actually expresses itself on the outside when we are in a state of balance and good health on the inside.
For these reasons I decided to specialize in innovative and non-invasive facial techniques, thus I became a facial reflexologist and facial yoga teacher. I then deepened my skills in international facial massages in order to have natural and respectful techniques for the face and skin.
For this reason I attended the Académie des Facialistes in Paris, where I graduated and continue to train abroad to bring all the new advanced manual techniques to Italy.
I have the priviledge of practicing this new profession, and becoming a Facialist!
I am a beauty expert, a facial specialist, and I help women and men to rediscover a better image of themselves thanks to facial massages and personalized advices to maintain the benefits. I adapt my manual techniques to the specific needs of every person.
The techniques I use will allow you to:
make your facial muscles work better
donate volume
redefine the face contours
open your gaze
relax muscle tension that originates wrinkles
reactivate circulation (blood, lymphatic, energetic)
increase face brightness
But don't improvise as a Facialist!
The analysis of the skin, facial volumes (muscles, fat, bones), facial expressions and the specificity of the manual massage techniques to be performed, based on the morphology of the face, require competence, skill, refined dexterity, high technique, perfection and experience through rigorous and precision work. The beauty and refinement of the gestures must be combined with the effectiveness of the technique.
Even though we all have a specific structure of skin, muscles and bones, no one ages in the same way! This is where the Facialist comes into play and, after a careful morpho-facial analysis, adapts her regenerating, reshaping, rejuvenating and relaxing facial massage by performing a tailor-made massage to improve the quality of the skin, delay the signs of aging and donate the famous "glow", so that everyone can shine and feel beautiful in front of their own image in the mirror.
A beautiful and radiant person is a person who loves himself!
